Join Chloe for a creative ceramic workshop where you’ll decorate a large pre-made serving bowl using colour, pattern, and texture. Perfect for all skill levels, you’ll begin by painting your bowl with layers of ceramic paints and glazes, building up a vibrant background for your design. You’ll then be guided through sgraffito techniques, carving into the surface to reveal contrasting colour beneath and create detailed illustrations, patterns, or natural motifs. There will be a selection of design ideas and templates available on the day, but you’re welcome to bring your own inspiration if you have a particular theme or image you’d like to work from. This process allows for both bold painterly marks and fine, illustrative details, resulting in a truly unique and expressive piece.

After your session, Chloe will glaze and fire your bowl — a process that takes around 1-2 weeks. Once finished, your handmade serving bowl will be returned to Micklems for you to collect and enjoy at home or use as a statement piece for entertaining.

Materials:

Materials will be provided by the tutor. The cost of these is £10 which includes the clay, glazes, glazing and firing, payable to the tutor during the course.

• A selection of tea, freshly brewed coffee, biscuits and delicious cakes. If you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies, please feel free to bring along your own provisions/milk alternatives etc.

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
