Level: Beginner - good manual dexterity is required.

Make a colourful stained glass lantern using copper foil. Choosing from a selection of prepared patterns to work from, you will learn how to cut glass, apply the copper foil tape and then solder the panels together.

We will make panels for up to three sides of the lantern. The ‘door’ side will be filled with one whole piece of glass.

There will be demonstrations of each technique and individual guidance and there is no need for previous experience,.

 Please note there will be an additional cost of £30 for materials, payable to the tutor at the end of the day (cash or card).

What to bring:

• A packed lunch

• An apron

• An old tea towel or scraps of fabric (to clean the glass)

• A pair of thin surgical gloves if you have them

HEALTH & SAFETY

• This course involves the use of lead and is not suitable for pregnant women or nursing mothers.

• Please do not wear open toe shoes/sandals

• A selection of tea, freshly brewed coffee, biscuits and delicious cakes. If you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies, please feel free to bring along your own provisions/milk alternatives etc

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you onto another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
