Level: Beginner and up

This two-day workshop will allow you to explore traditional stained-glass skills and make a panel which is constructed with lead. You will be able to make a panel which is approximately A3 in size. All ability levels welcome, although good manual dexterity is needed. If time allows you can make some small copper foil decorative pieces.

Skills and techniques taught:

• You may choose to work from a selection of prepared patterns or bring along your own idea which can be developed into a suitable design.

• You will be taught how to cut glass shapes to fit the design template.

• Lead will be used to assemble the panel.

• The panel will be soldered together and cemented to finish.

• The final clean will be done the next day at home.

• The tutor will bring all the materials and equipment needed, which include a selection of coloured glass for everyone to share.

Materials:

The course fee does not cover materials and you will have to pay the tutor at the end of the class.

Panels of approx. A3 in size will cost £50.

Small copper foil items range from £3 - £5 each.

Health and Safety

This course involves the use of lead and is not suitable for pregnant women.

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you cancel your booking, we are unable to offer a refund or a transfer onto another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
