Join us as we track an artistic year in the garden, taking inspiration from both our own gardens and the lovely surroundings of Micklems Farm.

Trees are heavy with the weight of blossom, bulbs are in full bloom – the garden has woken up, the birds are singing, and spring is in the air!

Working mainly in watercolour with the addition of some simple & fun printing techniques we will celebrate the season with a colourful painted, printed wreath and sketchbook pages full of frothy blossom and birds!

There will be lots of demos & step-by-step instruction in this fun and informal workshop. 

What to bring:

• Reference photos / magazine images of spring plants, blossom and birds – weather permitting, we will have a quick walk round the gardens at Micklems for inspiration.

• Sheets of medium to heavy-weight watercolour paper (approx. 220gsm)

• Low-tack masking tape

• Watercolours or Gouache) – whatever you have – if buying specially just buy primary colours (plus a tube of white gouache if working in watercolour)

• Coloured pencils if you have them (the tutor will also bring some to share)

• Mixing palette, brushes (whatever you have) – the tutor will also bring some

• Apron

• A packed lunch

Included on the day:

• Any other materials not specified for the students to bring

• Expert tuition

• 1 to 1 guidance

• Detailed demonstrations

• A selection of tea, freshly brewed coffee, biscuits and delicious cakes

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
