Level: Beginner and up

This day will teach you how to capture the essence of this beloved flower. As well as learning the basics of watercolour painting, such as wet on wet and wet on dry – you will be shown how to lift off pigment with various tools allowing for tonal variations in your work, and how negative painting can be used to create depth and perspective. You will learn how a combination of hard and soft edges can bring your work to life – as well as how to create atmosphere and life into your work through a looser approach.

Zoë will give several demonstrations of techniques, as well as plenty of opportunity for questions, discussion and problem-solving. All are welcome, from beginners through to more practiced painters in watercolour – and all will leave with a sunflower painting of their own.
