Level: Beginner and up

Join Chloe for a creative ceramic workshop where you’ll design and hand-build your own beautiful botanical imprint ceramic plate, inspired by the delicate forms and intricate textures of flowers and foliage. Suitable for all skill levels, you’ll arrange and press real flowers and plants into the clay surface to create detailed natural imprints before then learn how to shape your clay into a plate. You’ll explore composition and pattern, experimenting with different botanical forms to create a unique piece that captures the beauty of nature in clay. A selection of flowers and foliage will be available on the day, but you’re welcome to bring your own pieces if you have something particular in mind.

Once your piece is complete, it will be dried, glazed and fired by Chloe — a process that takes around 4–5 weeks. Once ready, your plate will be returned to Micklems for you to collect and enjoy!

Materials:

Materials will be provided by the tutor. The cost of these is £10, which includes the clay, glazes, glazing and firing, payable to the tutor during the course.

What to bring:

• Apron

• Old clothes

• Any floral or botanical design inspiration you would like to bring

• All other workshop materials not specified for students to bring or pay for on the day

• Expert tuition

• One-to-one guidance

• Detailed demonstrations

• A selection of tea, freshly brewed coffee, biscuits and delicious cakes. If you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies, please feel free to bring along your own provisions or milk alternatives.

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
