Create a junk journal from all your bits of paper hiding in the dark corners of your stash – from old bits of printing & painting, pages torn from books and magazines, to lovely decorative papers just waiting to be used….we will bring it all together to make a visually interesting background for some marvellous moths and beautiful butterflies – so lets banish the white page and have some fun!

We’ll add inserts, windows, and pockets to expand our journal, paint and stencil some of our pages to alter and distress them, and bind it all together with some simple techniques. Then we’ll use a combination of watercolour or gouache, coloured pencils, dip pens (and anything else we have to hand!) to create a collection of images – some bright, bold and decorative to cut out and collage, some loose and lively to splash across the page and a bit of simple stamping. Add some little labels and hand-written text to compliment your images and a smattering of spattering as a finishing touch!

No experience needed -just a willingness to experiment with your materials and enjoy the process. Lots of demos of all the techniques and stages – a fun and informal play-day for grown-ups!
