IMPRESSIONIST STILL LIFE IN OILS OR ACRYLICS

IMPRESSIONIST STILL LIFE IN OILS OR ACRYLICS
Thursday 9th July
Tutor: Lucy Burton
10:00 - 16:00
Level: All levels welcome
In this workshop we are going to discuss the work of ‘The Impressionists’, adopting their principles to create an ‘Impressionist’ style painting from a Still Life.
First, we will sketch out our composition on the canvas, do a colourful underpainting, then apply the paint in a loose, colourful & dynamic way in the style of ‘The Impressionists’.
Focusing on colour mixing & brushwork, we will be aiming to capture the subjective, fleeting impression of the scene rather than a precise, detailed representation.
