In this workshop we are going to work from an image of a canal boat moored along a towpath, surrounded by lush green trees. We will first do an underpainting then sketch out our composition on the canvas, before applying the paint in a loose & dynamic way in the style of ‘The Impressionists’. Focusing on colour mixing & brushwork, we will be aiming to capture the subjective, fleeting impression of the scene rather than a precise, detailed representation.
