Level: Beginner and up

Level up your Christmas decor with this fun, creative, and experimental festive workshop. Learn how to cast your own homewares using Jesmonite, metallic mica powders and a variety of moulds. Jesmonite is a versatile, non-toxic material that sets into a beautiful stone-like finish. It’s a professional quality eco-resin that offers great design possibilities.

You will learn how to:

  • Mix and pigment Jesmonite AC100

Use mica powders in different ways

  • Choose from a selection of moulds to shape your designs.

  • Experiment with exciting decorative techniques, including marbling, splatter, and terrazzo effects.

  • Apply the finishing touches and seal your pieces so they're ready to use

I will provide a variety of moulds for candle holders, trays and Christmas ornaments - with the form taken care of, you can go wild, marbling liquid gold through your tray, creating a soft sheen, or using terrazzo to create a textured tree decoration.

Because Jesmonite sets so quickly, you’ll get to experience the complete creative journey, from the initial design to a finished product, all within a three hour session. You could make a matching set or experiment with a couple of different styles – the choice is yours. This is a wonderfully satisfying workshop, and you’ll leave with at least three beautiful pieces you’ll use year on year. You might even have trouble saying goodbye in January and want to use your tray all year round!
