CREATIVE CASTING WITH JESMONITE: COASTERS AND DISHES

CREATIVE CASTING WITH JESMONITE: COASTERS AND DISHES
Wednesday 15th July
Tutor: Charlotte Wolfe
10:00 - 12:00
Level: Beginner and up
Join me for a fun, creative, and experimental workshop where you will learn how to cast your own bespoke homewares using Jesmonite and a variety of moulds. Jesmonite is a versatile, non-toxic material that sets into a beautiful stone-like finish. It’s a professional quality eco-resin that offers great design possibilities. In this hands-on workshop, I will guide you through the entire process, from start to finish.
You will learn how to:
Mix and pigment Jesmonite AC100 to create your own unique colour palette.
Choose from a selection of moulds to shape your designs.
Experiment with exciting decorative techniques, including marbling, splatter, and terrazzo effects.
Apply the finishing touches and seal your pieces so they're ready to use
I will provide a variety of square, circular and hexagonal silicone moulds which can be used to make coasters, trinket dishes or even a tray for your peppermill. They provide a flat surface which is perfect for starting out with Jesmonite as you can experiment with all the different techniques, and some have a rim making them really versatile forms.
Because Jesmonite sets so quickly, you’ll get to experience the complete creative journey, from the initial design to a finished product, all within a two-hour session. You could make a matching set or experiment with a couple of different styles – the choice is yours. This is a wonderfully satisfying workshop, and you’ll leave with two unique, handmade homewares to proudly display in your home or give as a thoughtful gift.
