Level: Beginner and up

Join Chloe for a creative ceramic workshop where you’ll decorate your own beautiful ceramic plate, featuring an animal surrounded by whimsical flowers and foliage. Choose between a fox, hare or owl to bring to life and work step by step with Chloe whilst exploring colour, texture and pattern to create a unique piece of ceramic art. 

Suitable for all skill levels, you’ll learn how to use the sgraffito technique to carve intricate details into the surface, bringing your animal and botanical surroundings to life. You will experiment with expressive marks, layered colours and decorative details to develop your own interpretation of this countryside-inspired design.

Once your piece is complete, it will be glazed and fired by Chloe — a process that takes around 1-2 weeks. Once ready, your plate will be returned to Micklems for you to collect and enjoy!

• Working with colour and layered designs

Materials:

Materials will be provided by the tutor. The cost of these is £15, which includes the glazes, glazing and firing, payable to the tutor during the course.

What to bring:

• Apron

• Old clothes

• A selection of tea, freshly brewed coffee, biscuits and delicious cakes. If you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies, please feel free to bring along your own provisions/milk alternatives etc.

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
