It is really easy to carve your own rubber stamps for printing and Janina will guide you through all the steps for getting started. We will first look at different types of rubber erasers suitable for carving stamps as well as the different types of ink pads. Then we will get started with the design of our images and transfer these onto the rubber blocks. Janina will show you how to “proof” your image and refine it. Once we have carved some stamps we will explore options for pattern making, and for making multicoloured stamped prints.

Janina will guide you through some projects using your newly carved rubber stamps. These will include printing your own Christmas cards, tags and gift wrap, and a larger stamped piece involving masking off, which will be suitable for framing at home. If you have any images you would like to work from please bring them, otherwise Janina will have plenty of suggestions including some with a Christmassy theme. .
