MELANIE QUINN

I’m Melanie Quinn, founder of Aroma Mill Perfumery, an artisan perfumery based in Hare Hatch, Berkshire. I create my own fragrances, run my perfume bar at events and teach the art of making scent through hands-on, creative workshops.

I have around 15 years’ experience in the artisan fragrance industry and combine my scientific and regulatory background with a passion for creativity and perfumery. I have undertaken extensive training in perfumery and have experience working with a wide range of materials, including natural essential oils, isolates, aroma chemicals and modern biotech ingredients.

My approach to teaching is relaxed, practical and accessible. I enjoy encouraging people to explore scent for themselves, experiment with different ingredients and develop their own creative ideas. My workshops are designed to be both enjoyable and informative, whether you’re a complete beginner or already have an interest in fragrance and formulation.

I teach a range of practical workshops, including perfume making, candle making, soap making and reed diffuser making. My aim is to give participants the confidence to experiment, learn new skills and, most importantly, have fun creating something that is uniquely their own.

I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and helping people discover just how creative the world of fragrance and making can be.
