LINDA SAUL

LINDA SAUL

Moving from the Isle of Wight in her early years to landlocked Berkshire, Linda’s artistic interest and inspiration has evolved from the architecture of coastal scenes through to the collage of textures of our metropolis. Using water-based mixed media and different paper surfaces in a non-traditional way she explores the textures of the city as modern structures engulf the architecture of the past. Linda is vice-chair of the Reading Guild of Artists and has exhibited with the Royal Watercolour Society Contemporary Watercolour Competition, the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colour, the Discerning Eye and the Sunday Times Watercolour competition. The Making a Mark blog described my “Pendeen Clifftop” as one of the best 10 paintings in the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition 2019. She was the originator and main organiser for the Reading Gaol Hug which involved 1000 people linking hands as part of the Save Reading Gaol campaign to have it as a cultural centre and museum. In 2020, with Terry Dixon, she co-authored the book “Reading’s Influential Women” published by Two Rivers Press. Linda is proud to have been elected an Associate of the Royal Watercolour Society in 2021. www.lindasaul.co.uk
