This workshop is ideal for those who have attended the ‘Introduction to painting in oils’ workshop, or who have some experience in using oils or acrylics. The day will begin with a discussion about the importance of composition, perspective and light in landscape painting, looking at the work of some accomplished landscape artists for inspiration and example.

Shelagh will then help you plan your own composition, explaining the ‘fat over lean’ process and demonstrating how to approach each stage of your painting. Reference material will be provided, but attendees may also bring their own photographs if they wish to paint a particular scene. All materials are provided with the exception of boards and canvases which ideally shouldn’t be larger than about 10 x 12 inches (or 12 x 12). Of course you are welcome to bring your own paints and materials if you have them.

Included - Materials (except boards and canvases), tea, coffee and biscuits.

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. You may transfer your place on a workshop to another person at any time.
