The day will begin with a discussion about the importance of composition, perspective and light in landscape painting, looking at the work of some accomplished landscape artists for inspiration and example.

Shelagh will then help you plan your own composition, demonstrating how to approach each stage of your painting. Reference material will be provided, but attendees may also bring their own photographs if they wish to paint a particular scene. If the weather is good, students may wish to find a view to paint outside. All materials are provided but you are welcome to bring your own paints and materials if you have them. Suitable for all levels.
